They Burnt My Memories by ~ChronicDejaVu:iconChronicDejaVu:

Oh, woe is me so
For my drawing has been burnt to crow
I feel as if it was my child
I entrusted it into her keep, Ooo
And oh, how she burnt it so

If I sit in quite and close my eyes
I can hear it call my name as the flames rise

So, my drawing I loved you, oh
Though I never expressed to her how much you meant to me so
But let say that I did make it as clear as crystal
Maybe more intent for her to make me feel dismal

And I can see her face flushed with the devil's laughter
As she makes the flames rise even faster

I know this is probably not the right vision
But ever since I was told
This grief in me has only risen
Oh woe, woe is me so
(My drawing, I'm so sad you had to go)

Icon In The Desert, isn't of this earth anymore... *tears up* Ex-girlfriend had some silly bonfire where she burnt things that I gave her. One thing, though, is a drawing that I put time into. Time that she didn't care about, maybe with reason; but is vengeance considered reasonable? I love art though I didn't draw much. This piece of art held much significant personal meaning to me. I gave it to her because I didn't know what to do with it and I was a trust issue; I let her watch over it for me. Now I didn't look her into the eyes and spell out the deep connection I had with the drawing, I simply trusted, and had faith she would take care of it. Something rarely done in that relationship, and this poem was written the night that I found out that she destroyed it.

Feb. 17, 2006. I wrote this at 1:20 in the morning on the back of two McDonald receipts.

Beautiful poem Stert...I'm so sorry your picture had to go...I'd be super mad. But it's legecy lives on through Deviant! A picture is like a child, as you said. I mean, you create the drawing and bring it to life in a sense. Anyway, I'm so sorry! Try n' have a good weekend Stert! Hugs!
