The Moon Rises
The moon rises in the night sky as I sit and
Watch the last cries of the sun settle until
The night has completely chased it from the frontier.
Old friends have left, new ones come.
Old relationships end, new ones begin.
When will the clarity be
Forever.
When will I truly have that
Infinite time;
That immortality with purpose that I look so yearningly for.
That place that all gods sit and ponder.
I want that carelessness,
That freedom from all responsibilities
Besides the ones that I choose are important.
Old friends leave,
But one resides and plans
To never die.
Old relationships close,
But mine now promises immortality
Of spirit and mind.
Inspiration seems easy to come by,
Greatness is an everyday thing.
But then why, does that dark sky look
So much prettier than the sun.
Why does pain and grief ring the bell of destiny
Louder than that of happiness and bliss.
Why does never looking back make me create
Something that's worth looking back for,
And looking back makes my future fall to ruin.
I must stop,
For time doesn't wait for those that are deep in thought.
I must work.
